Good Cook Produce Keeper Set

As a Good Cook Kitchen Expert, I was offered the chance to review a full set of Produce Keepers.  I was so excited to do so because we eat a LOT of produce at the Castle.  We get our produce mostly from a local COOP, and I am always looking for a way to store the extras so it lasts and it is easy for me to find in our two refrigerators.  Yes, we have two refrigerators so I have room to stockpile fresh items and keep drinks etc. cold without cramming it all into one.

The Produce Keeper set includes a Cantaloupe Keeper (great for Honeydew and Watermelon also), a Grapefruit Keeper that is perfect for the extra half of grapefruit I eat later since I am the only one who likes it, a Pepper Keeper, a Tomato Keeper that also works for an onion, a Citrus Keeper that perfectly keeps my extra lemon or lime fresh (also great for half an avocado!), an Asparagus Keeper (I filled it part way with water and it keeps the stems upright and fresh), and a Banana Keeper that holds that extra half a banana from breakfast till you finish it.

I found that ALL the Produce Keepers did a great job of maintaining the freshness of the contents a few days longer.  I also loved that you can see inside them, and because they are shaped and colored it is really easy to spot them in the fridge.  The lids lock in place to make them secure from spills and safe from smells getting in or out.  I especially loved the  versatility of the Cantaloupe Keeper.  The size and shape let me store a variety of things in it besides melons.  I used it for half a cantaloupe and it fit well.  Then I also used it for green beans, Romaine lettuce, and a fruit salad for a picnic which I served right from the keeper bowl and it looked nice!  You should check out this Breaded Parmesan Green Beans recipe that I created with the green beans I stored in the Cantaloupe Produce Keeper.
