The official start to the holiday shopping season 2016 — Black Friday — is November 25.
Ads and hours for Black Friday 2016 are already being released. In the past few years, sales have crept into Thanksgiving Day openings. This year, there has been a backlash against Thanksgiving openings, and many retailers have announced they are to be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
All stores located in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Maine, regardless if they’re on this list or not, are closed on Thanksgiving due to their Blue Laws, which require all stores to be closed on holidays.
