Before I buy any major electronics product, I check with Consumer Reports (I subscribe to this). The TC-L42E30 model was not tested, however, the 42-Inch Panasonic Viera TC-L42D30 ( A 42-inch LCD HDTV with LED backlighting from Panasonic with 1080p resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 4 HDMI inputs, and 1 component-video input.) was tested and ranked second highest. That model is a Consumer Reports Recommended Buy. I would consider this TV from Amazon because it is very similar.
