Cheesy Oat Dog Biscuits

Cheesy Oat Dog Biscuits

Preheat Oven to 350°, Yield 60 small biscuits

Ingredients:

1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour

1 Cup White Flour

NOTE: (Use 2 cups of White Flour if you don’t have Whole Wheat Flour)

1/2 Cup Quick Oats + 1/2 cup extra to roll the dough in

1-1/2 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese (or any kind your dog likes)

1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil

1/4 Tsp Salt (optional)

5 Tablespoons of Water

Directions:

In a food processor, combine all but the water until the ingredients are coarse and crumbled.  You can also use a mixer but the dough will be coarser.

While the processor is running, slowly add in the water until a soft dough forms.  You may need more or less than 5 Tablespoons.

Cheesy Oat Biscuits Soft Dough

Roll into 1-1/2 inch balls and roll into a bowl of oats.  Shape into a log 2 inches long and place onto an ungreased cookie sheet.  I use parchment sheets when I bake cookies (and dog biscuits).

Place into the preheated 350° oven on the middle rack for 11-13 minutes for softer biscuits and 14-15 minutes for crunchier biscuits.  If they turn golden but the time is not elapsed, cover loosely with foil until the time is up.

Let cool on the cookie sheet 1 minute before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.  Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 4-5 days.  Yield: 60 small biscuits
