Tyson Chicken Recalls Over 2 Million Pounds of Product

Tyson Foods Inc is recalling approximately 2,485,374 pounds of ready-to-eat breaded chicken products due to mis-branding and undeclared allergens, the USDA announced June 9th.

The products could contain milk, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label.

These items were shipped for institutional use nationwide. According to Tyson’s records, schools have purchased products through the company’s commercial channels.
According to the USDA, the problem was discovered on June 6, when the company received notification from an ingredient supplier that the bread crumbs the company received and used in the recalled products potentially contained undeclared milk.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

The RTE breaded chicken items were produced and packaged on various dates from Aug. 17, 2016 through Jan.14, 2017. The following products are subject to recall:

The products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-1325” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped for institutional use nationwide. According to Tyson’s records, schools have purchased products through the company’s commercial channels.

The problem was discovered on June 6, 2017, when the company received notification from an ingredient supplier that the bread crumbs the company received and used in the recalled products potentially contained undeclared milk.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

Conagra Brands, Inc. is recalling approximately 700,125 pounds of spaghetti and meatball products due to mis-branding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced June 10th. The product contains milk, a known allergen which is not declared on the product label.

The spaghetti and meatball products were produced on Jan. 5, 2017 and Jan. 12, 2017. This recall affects private label brands as well. VIEW LABELS HERE

14.75-oz. cans with “Libby’s Spaghetti and Meatballs MADE WITH PORK, CHICKEN AND BEEF IN TOMATO SAUCE” on the label with package code 2100701200 and Use By Date 01/02/19.
14.75-oz. cans with “Del Pino’s SPAGHETTI & MEATBALLS MADE WITH PORK, CHICKEN AND BEEF IN TOMATO SAUCE” on the label with package code 2100701200 and Use By Date 01/02/19.

Aldi Recall on Frozen Vegetables!

Aldi is Voluntarily Recalling some of their Frozen Sweet Peas. It is their Season’s Choice Frozen Sweet Peas, manufactured by Lakeside Foods, Inc. The reason is possible listeria monocytogenes contamination. There have been no reports of illnesses related to the frozen peas.  The peas have been pulled from the shelves. The 16 ounce bag has the UPC code 041498164294 and contains a best by date of 08/2018.  If you have this item in your freezer you can return it to Aldi for a full refund.  They were sold at Aldi locations in Illinois, Kentucky, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia.

More than 35,000 Pounds of JOSÉ OLÉ Frozen Taquitos RECALLED

More than 35,000 pounds of frozen taquitos have been recalled due to the possibility of being contaminated with pieces of rubber with white plastic, according to the US Dept. of Agriculture.

The frozen ready-to-eat beef taquito items were produced on December 30, 2016 and are detailed as –

  • 60-oz. plastic bags inside of a corrugated carton labeled as “JOSÉ OLÉ TAQUITOS BEEF CARNE DE RES IN CORN TORTILLAS Crispy and Crunchy,” with case codes 3366365A, 3366365B, 3366365C, 3366365D and a Best By date of December 30, 2017.

The affected products were shipped to retail locations in California, Florida, Illinois, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wyoming.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Choking Hazard RECALL! Rattles Sold at Target, Walmart, Walgreens

The Consumer Products Safety Commission announces that Kids II has RECALLED Oball Rattles Due to Choking Hazard.  

The full recall affects about 680,000 rattles sold nationwide at Target, Walgreens and Walmart, as well as online at several retailers, between January 2016 and February 2017.

The clear plastic disc on the outside of the ball can break, releasing small beads, posing a choking hazard to young children.  42 reports in the US have been made.  The recalled rattles are four-inch-wide pink, blue, green and orange balls with about two dozen finger holes and clear plastic discs that contain beads. They can be identified by model number 81031, but only rattles with certain date codes — T0486, T1456, T2316, T2856 and T3065 — are included in the recall. The date codes can be found on a small triangle on the inner surface of the rattle.

Sargento Foods Inc. is recalling a specialty Longhorn Colby cheese after discovering a potential contamination of Listeria monocytogenes from one of their suppliers.  No illnesses have been reported.  These products were packaged at the Sargento Plymouth, Wis. facility.

Consumers can get more information and check to see if their product is affected by the recall by visiting info.sargento.com and using the “Product Check” tool.  This webpage will be kept updated with the latest information about the recall. 175,000 Rice and Slow Cookers are being Recalled due to Electrical Problems which can cause shocks and fire hazards.  The Rice and Slow Cookers are sold under the name 3 Squares. The model numbers are:

Recall on Nestlé Drumsticks for Listeria

Nestlé USA, Inc. is initiating a voluntary recall of its Nestlé Drumstick Club 16 count Variety Pack and 24 count Vanilla Pack (with cones marked for easy individual sale) due to a possible health risk. The two pack sizes contain 4.6 fl.oz. cones and were manufactured in Bakersfield, Calif. and distributed nationally. No other production codes, sizes or varieties of Nestlé Drumstick products are affected by this recall.

The company received positive test results for Listeria monocytogenes (LM) from equipment contact surfaces from a location on the production line where these products are made. There have been no positive test results for LM present in the Drumstick cones themselves.
